You can use memloom’s security settings to control who can see each story on an individual basis. Stories shared with private security can be viewed only by the specific people that you have selected.
Stories shared on social media services such as Facebook require a public link, and as such, anyone with the link will be able to view your story. Visibility of the link will be controlled by your Facebook security settings (or any service that you use to share the link) and not by memloom.
This will vary depending on your account service level, and the relative sizes of your media. With a basic free account, users receive 3gb of storage. With a standard account, users receive 15gb of storage. With a premium account, users receive 100gb of storage. This means that the average person using a free account would be able to upload more than a thousand high-resolution images, several hours of video, or twenty days of audio narration. You should have plenty of room to get started telling even your most detailed stories.
As with all online services, memloom users must obey U.S. copyright law and receive the permission of the copyright holder before using any copyrighted media in their stories. If a story is found to contain an unauthorized use of copyrighted material, necessary steps will be taken. If you are the copyright holder of media that you believe has been wrongly used on our site, please contact email@example.com. User account names, story names, or any other content intended to mislead other or violate trademarks may be altered or suspended at our discretion.
You are the copyright holder of the stories you create with memloom. This includes your story media and all content authored by you. memloom retains the copyright only for content provided by us to aid in the creation of your stories. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license for use of our content to facilitate the creation and presentation of your stories. For complete details, see our legal policy.
Not yet, but we’re working on it! Currently we are building memloom’s library of pre-designed themes, and expanding customization options for those themes once they’re published. We intend to offer options to allow greater customization, and even creation of your own themes for premium users in the future.
If your image is blurry, it is likely that your image's overall size is too low or you have zoomed-in to a degree that exceeds the image’s available resolution. You can upload a higher resolution image (it’s always a good idea to start with your highest quality images!) or zoom out to a larger portion of the image to eliminate the blurriness.
Currently memloom does not support export or advanced printing support, but paid subscribers will enjoy these features in the near future.
memloom can currently accept most popular media formats. Almost any file type that is uploaded, is automatically converted to a usuable file format.
Note: Due to the non-scaleability of animated GIFs, they are not usable for memloom.
Currently there is no direct support to download individual media files back out of memloom, but we will be adding a service in the future that will allow users to order a copy of their entire media library and exported stories on a portable drive, and delivered to their door.
Each story within memloom is limited to 12 blocks. This is intended to make your stories more vibrant, focused, and enjoyable for others to read. If you find that you need more than 12 blocks to tell your story, we suggest breaking it into smaller “chapter” stories that can be shared together to make a volume.
Currently, printing of your stories is limited to the native printing capabilities provided by your web browser. In the future, enhanced printing and export features will be added for standard account holders. Premium users will also receive access to multimedia export options that include audio and video in a variety of formats.
You can print any story using the native printing capabilities provided by your web browser. Only the story author can create advanced exports of their stories that are suitable for high-quality printing. If you would like to produce a high-quality printout of another author’s story, you’ll need to ask them to provide you with an exported copy.
memloom has formed a strategic partnership with a company called GoPhoto , who specializes in taking your photos, home movies, and negatives, and converting them into modern, digital formats that are suitable for use with memloom. In addition to having all of your original materials safely returned to you, you will also receive a CD, DVD or flash drive containing digital copies of all your items. memloom users who use GoPhoto will receive a 20% discount on any order (code MEMLOOM20).
memloom users are not required to use GoPhoto for these purposes and memloom does not guarantee or warrant the work of GoPhoto.
If you choose to cancel your account, your stories and media will remain in the memloom cloud for 90 days. They will be inaccessible during that time, but if you choose to reactivate your account, everything will be waiting when you return. Beyond the 90 day grace period, all content will be securely deleted from memloom servers.
When you downgrade your account, you will be asked to select the stories that you’d like to keep active at your new service level. This takes into consideration additional stories that may have been added to your account as rewards or incentives as well. The remaining stories will become inactive. They will remain in your library, but will no longer be accessible or able to be shared by you. If you upgrade your account again later, your stories will all be waiting for you.
